3 Drawer Acrylic Storage from The Container Store - REVIEW

I purchased these 3 drawer units last year to accommodate my makeup with a higher profile.
I elected to buy the model with the cut out area for finger pulling over the model with the knob on the drawer. I heard from a few of my makeup buddies that the "knobbed" model cracked and the knob broke off after a brief time.
I also wanted a more uniform look for my storage.
The finger cut out resembles that of my acrylic muji drawers.

I purchased the units for $14.99 US each from The Container Store. I paid $8.50 for shipping.

I find them to be relatively flimsy in comparison to the sturdy muji drawers.
However, it was essential that I get them to store my taller items, such as eos lip balms and loose setting powders.
They do stack, however they are not secure. I would recommend slipping a bit of that gummy stuff you find on the back of gift cards between the units to prevent accidents.

I would purchase these items again despite the cheaper quality as compared to my muji drawers. I like the look of uniformity.

Do you own anything like this?
Do you have items with higher profiles that will not fit in your muji drawers?

This setup is constantly changing.
I do plan to procure another 3 Drawer unit from the Container Store for my lashes, and Cotton products.
I would also like to get some alternative storage for my makeup pencils. I saw some acrylic drawer inserts from the Container Store, as well as some Pencil Caddies on the Muji website. I have not made up my mind which I would enjoy more.

Do you own any of these storage solutions?
Are you planning on reorganizing your set up anytime soon?

Nail Polish Collection/Organization

I purchased two acrylic racks from Premier Nail Source.
They each hold up to 90 bottles of polish.
The shipping was pretty fast. The standard fee was $7.95.  I had to pay $5 extra for each because of the size of the shelf units. I also had to pay an additional $2.95 for residential delivery. This was the most affordably priced option for me. I am excited about my new storage because I can see everything that I have.
I can also see what is running low and needs replacing more readily.
I am planning to store these in a cool dark place.

I would like to buy two more units for future use.
Don't judge me. *smiles*

Affordable Acrylic 36 Lipstick Holder

I purchased three of these holders from AzarDisplays
They were reasonably priced at $6.80 each.
There are metal Hooks which allow the holders to attach them to a pegboard if you desire to do so.

2 Holders Side by Side
My holders are housed in a drawer at the moment. I have since stored them right side up. While I would like to see the names at a glance, I'm concerned that with warmer weather, the lipsticks might melt a little, risking the marring of the top of the lipsticks.

Updated Mujis (Makeup Storage) Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek at my current set up.

I am hoping that 4 - 5 drawers
and 2 - 2 drawers will be enough
to contain my collection.  One of the
two drawers has a hinged lid.
I opted to have that as I did not want
to have my foundations laying flat.
I am working to use what I have
and not acquire much else.
I do have separate storage for most of
my larger eyeshadow palettes.

I purchased the units over several months from http://www.muji.us/store/storage/acrylic-cases.html .
I am thrilled with the quality of the craftsmanship.
The sleek simple design compliments any decor.
Stay tuned for a breakdown of the drawers soon.
Have you purchased any of these types of systems? What is your setup like?

Muji Acrylic Drawers

After months of having been out of stock, I was finally able to get my hands on a few of these drawers.

I am still in the process of converting my collection over to this system.

The five drawer stack is available for $27.50

The two drawer stack is available for $25.25

I am still going to buy a two drawer with lid, as my Make Up For Ever HD Foundation will not fit in the drawer. The drawer just wouldn't close.

The packaging was excellent.
The quality of the acrylic is very fine. It is sturdy and of good construction.  All of the units arrived in perfect condition. The shipping time was within one week of my having placed the order. I am looking forward to purchasing additional units. If you are interested in purchasing the units, here is the the link

Here is a sneak peek into some of the newer organization.

Mirrored Jewelry Armoire (Updated with Price Comparisons)

I had been dreaming about this for several months.
I finally was able to purchase it.
Overstock.com sells it for $109.99 US.
However, it goes out of stock quite often.
I purchased mine from getorganized via
ebates. I got 7% back.
My grand total minus discount plus sales tax was just over $117.
It shipped to me in five business days.
It was very well packaged. It arrived undamaged.
I was very excited to fill it with all of my baubles.
Unfortunately, my bangle collection could not be contained in this unit. I have alternative storage for them.

Over-the-Door Mirrored Jewelry Armoire Features:

36 hooks for necklaces

100 holes for earrings (holds 50 pairs)

12 compartments for watches, bracelets and more

91 ring slots

Interior mirror

Comes ready-to-hang with included hardware

Measures approx. 14"W x 48"L x 4" Deep

Made of wood, glass, plastic, wire and foam

Made in USA

There is a full length mirror on the exterior as well as a small mirror on the inside.

It only took me about 10 minutes to screw in the hooks to hang it on my door.
If you prefer to mount it on the wall it comes with a template, anchors and screws.

I had fun filling this. It took me more than an hour.

There is a mirror

I love this organizer.

How does ebates work? ....Price comparisons
The link to ebates is simply for the referral.
(You will get $10...gift card & I will also get $5 credit)

http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=MlligMjDC%2FOeTiq91TzIsQ%3D%3D

1.Once you have signed up,
2. then you type in the store you want in the right hand top search bar.
3. Any coupons for that store will pop up.
4. You simply click on the deal you want (e.g. 15% off, or free shipping or whatever)
5. Next ebates will redirect you to the site.
You can start shopping & you will get credit for your purchase.
6. If you connect to that site in a different window you will not get the credit through ebates.

e.g. of stores that sell the armoire...
csn stores (jewelry armoires direct)
get organized (shopgetorganized)
hsn
Walmart

(All of the stores I know of actually buy from csn stores, or some ship from csn stores).

7. After you have navigated to the store/coupon of your choice, you need to then go to the search field of that website & type in "over the door mirrored jewelry armoire".

I chose shopgetorganized b/c I did the math & 20% off (plus $14.98) total shipping & (8% tax) got me the armoire for like $117 & some change total.
With my credit, the armoire cost me $111.00
$129.98 Regular Price
$119.98 Sale Price
-   24.00  (20% discount)
-----------
$  95.98
$  14.98 shipping
---------
$117.62
6.72 ebates credit (cash back to be paid August 15, 2011)
---------
$111.00

$That 20% off coupon expired. But they do have a 15% off coupon. Generally through ebates, the free shipping will not apply to the purchase of the armoire at get organized b/c it is a "W" or "D" item. W=weight, D=drop ship.
get organized ships the armoire from a warehouse closest to your geographic location.

If you shop the get organized store through ebates by clicking on the 15% coupon (expires 7/31/11),
the link will take the price down to $112.
You need to add $10.00 for shipping because of the weight. That takes it to $122. Your local tax needs to be applied as well. That will be your grand total. You will receive 7% credit ($7.84) to your ebates account in 2-3 days after your purchase. The armoire is backordered until 7/30/11 on getorganized.

I do believe you can still lock in the discounts/pricing etc if you "preorder" b4 the coupon expires.
You might want to call to confirm this. They only have the armoire in black on this site.

csn stores offer "free shipping" on the armoire, but the cost is $136.99 plus tax.
on their site, the colors offered are Black, Silver, White and Gold.
The return if purchased through ebates is 2.5% ($3.42)

Walmart also offers "free shipping" on it but the price is also $136.99 plus tax.
The return to your ebates account if purchased through their link is ($3.42)

hsn offers free shipping. But the cost is $149.99. However their color range is greater.
They have Silver, Leopard, Black & Cherry. They also offer the option to break up the payments 2x.
If you choose to purchase the armoire from hsn through ebates, you get 2% of your purchase price ($3) credited back to your ebates account in 2-3 days.

Overstock.com does not currently have any deals through ebates. Your shipping costs will be $2.99
Overstock does offer you free shipping & 5% back on your purchase if you are a part of club "O".
(It cost $19.95 to join)
The armoire is $109.99 in Black on the site. ($112.98 plus tax)
$125.99 in White. ($129.98 plus tax)
$129.99 in Silver. ($132.98 plus tax)

I believe the armoire is also available via acouple of  sellers on ebay
($129.95 plus tax  and $151.97 plus tax , available in Black, White, Silver, Leopard),
however you do not get any return for your purchase.
I hope this has been helpful.

Cute Cabinet

A friend of mine had an online party via Celebrating Home
(formerly Home Interiors)
I was eyeing this little bargain for a couple of months.
It coordinates perfectly with my shore themed bathroom.
The beach is my favorite place. I decorated the family bathroom with this theme.

It is constructed of wood.
The exterior dimensions are 11 1/4" x 4" x 15 1/2".

Initially I purchased this to house some luxury handmade soaps for myself.

DeShawn Marie's soaps are too pretty to be hidden in a cabinet.
I plan to put them in a glass jar once we move & I have my private bath.
Right now, the glass in the family bathroom is too scary an thought to even consider!

Makeup Collectors, Do You Keep Your Product Boxes?

Perhaps there is some OCD chip in my head that needs to be fixed. I really don't know why I'm saving these boxes. I only save my high end boxes. It's ridiculous!
Do you save your boxes? If so, please share why you do so in the comment section.

What suggestions do you have for using empty boxes?

Some on YouTube have sugggested reusing them to organize & store makeup.

I'll probably just close my eyes one day & recycle them. UGH.

Dollar Store GOODIE!

Front View

I found this cosmetic organizer @ my local dollar store. It was the last one.
From the photograph on the packaging, it looks like it comes in many different styles.

There is a lip on the edge which leads me to believe they fit together. I will keep my eyes peeled for more of this item. For now, I think it is really handy for preparing makeup/brushes etc for the next day's look.

e.l.f. Studio Brush Holder

I love this thing! It appears to be made of acrylic. They covered it with a funky black spray that feels like a NARS compact. Right now it smells like it was from a "fire sale". I am confident that this smell will dissipate over the course of a few days.

- House irregularly shaped shadows that are used often.
